We have a firm Promise from God that I lift up to you today-- the Lord will keep you from evil; He will keep your life! This means that evil may try to stand on the doorstep of your heart but the Lord will knock evil right off. He is guarding your heart faithfully.
You may say that you can see evil in this world, in other people, and you may sense that evil is trying to take over. Our God is keeping us. We have the sure Promise from God that He will keep us from evil and will keep our lives holy as Christ is Holy (Leviticus 19:2, 1 Peter 1:13-16). He is on watch, alert, strong and Mighty.
The Lord has been and will continue to help you within His will. God keeps us near and nearer to Jesus Christ, and this nearness increases as we study, listen to Jesus' words and teachings in our Bibles, and choose holy living. God is on watch day and night.
Psalm 121
1 I lift up my eyes to the hills— from where will my help come? 2 My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber. 4 He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade at your right hand. 6 The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. 8 The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time on and forevermore.
