In Heaven We Expect

Updated: Jun 9, 2019

But our citizenship is in heaven, and it is from there that we are expecting a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. He will transform the body of our humiliation that it may be conformed to the Body of His glory, by the power that also enables Him to make all things subject to himself. Philippians 3:21-21

Many of the Church members at Philippi who are listening to the reading of Paul's letter most likely stand up raising their hands to heaven now! ''Come Lord Jesus! Return to us!" is in their hearts, put there by Spirit. Paul affirms Jesus will return and our thoughts and affections are firmly in our Savior Jesus.

Heaven on earth is given to us by the Holy Spirit as Spirit gives us the full power of Jesus Christ and His glorious presence with our hearts. One of two events are certain, either we will die and be in heaven with Jesus or Jesus will return again before we die. Either one fulfills our spiritual destiny because we are God's children in Jesus Christ.

Spirit's assurance that Jesus has us in His grip gives, within our unique personalities, solid confidence in Christ-- to do as Spirit guides us to do for Christ. We are without fear of death. Either we shall rise like Christ or Christ will return to us on earth before we die here. We have hope with joyous anticipation of His return!

To know with certainty we do not die makes us stronger, at peace in His peace, and we stand firm with faith in Christ to obey Him. Come Lord Jesus! Return to us! We are Your obedient servants.

Each of us is one soul in the mighty armada of God, using Christ's invisible power in prayer, actions, and our words. The light that shines out from us is Christ's own Light alive within us. The mighty armada we belong to is moving all things toward Christ for His loving purpose. Ours is His calling to love others with undeserved love, because we have been given this on the Cross by Jesus. The Cross makes us heaven's Resurrection People and all our love is due Him. Thank You Jesus; Your Kingdom come!

To God be the Glory!
