Looking

Do we imagine that a successful person is clean cut, dressed well, and appears confident? Samuel thought so. When it was time for the God to choose a King it was Samuel's thought that one of the tall good-looking men before him will be chosen. The Prophet Samuel needed to choose a King to be successor to King Saul and God directs him to someone else.

Samuel's surprise isn't hidden when God chooses a young unkept shepherd boy who is off singing in the hills! Young David is not Samuel's obvious choice! Samuel is certainly God dependent as Samuel seeks God's choice and not his own.

God sees into the heart. Samuel is led by God to look further. Jesus has given us Holy Spirit to aid us. Praise Jesus!! When you are looking for God's choice for someone to lead, help, assist, and befriend you then ask Holy Spirit to guide you. As you ask in the Name Of Jesus you will see what you are looking for as Holy Spirit Guides you!

But God told Samuel, “Looks aren’t everything. Don’t be impressed with his looks and stature. I’ve already eliminated him.God judges persons differently than humans do. Men and women look at the face;God looks into the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7
