And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all Grace, who has called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself restore, support, strengthen, and establish you.
1 Peter 5:10
In Acts 5:40-42 Peter and John the Apostle are arrested for the third time and flogged. After this suffering Peter witnesses to us that the way out of suffering and sadness is for us to allow Christ to work His care through the Holy Spirit. Within your heart and mind the Holy Spirit strengthens Christ's good kindness so that you recover from suffering and are establish in greater faith. Holy Spirit will work you out of the suffering and motivate you to use faith's endurance.
Theologian Georgia Harkness (1891-1974) reminds us to remember, 'Only a personal God can know or care what happens to persons.' God's personal care rejoices in your conviction to have faith. Harkness affirms, 'For it is more in the conviction that God who guides the stars and atoms in their courses also guides and cares for you and me.' Your focus on God's love flowing inside you blesses your love for Him.
