Do As Simeon Does

Blessings come to us by way of the Holy Spirit. This is how Simeon found the words-- to Praise God for the Gift Of Salvation as he blesses Babe Jesus. Simeon shows us. Holy Spirit gives us God's words.

Holy Spirit is our helper. Our hearts are filled and our words simply flow to God.

When we do as Simeon does we're blessed back. Simeon is a tremendous example of faith in action! He is expectant and joyful. Holy Spirit has told Simeon the Savior Messiah will show up before Simeon dies.

Simeon believes what Holy Spirit tells him! By faith he expectantly anticipates. Simeon is a forward thinker. He's expecting God's best and we may also! So within faith he is believing.

Trained to hope, Simeon shows us that when we take our focus off of ourselves and put our focus onto God then we can hear what Holy Spirit wants to tell us. Holy Spirit's voice is soft and low volume-- I believe this is why Jesus says to go into your closet, or a very very quiet place, and practice listening to Holy Spirit speak to you.

When we hear Holy Spirit in a place where no other noise interrupts our listening then we will be able to tune into Holy Spirit when there is a lot of noise around us.

__________

Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, looking for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. 26 And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. 27 And inspired by the Spirit he came into the temple; and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for Him according to the custom of the law, 28 he took him up in his arms and blessed God and said,

29 “Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in Peace, according to Thy word; 30 for mine eyes have seen Thy salvation 31 which Thou hast prepared in the presence of all peoples, 32 a Light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to Thy people Israel.”

33 And His father and his mother marveled at what was said about Him; 34 and Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother,

“Behold, this Child is set for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign that is spoken against 35 (and a sword will pierce through your own soul also), that thoughts out of many hearts may be revealed.” Luke 2:25-35
