"Come with Me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest." — Mark 6:31
Ignoring the physical reminders that we need rest can lead us to focus on obstacles instead of God's opportunities. Jesus invites us into His presence to find true rest and comfort.
The demands on our time and energy, especially when serving others for God, can lead to burnout. Sometimes, we struggle to disengage from our work for Christ, forgetting to rest. We must remember Jesus' clear message to His disciples: Rest. God rested, Jesus rested, and we need to rest too.
We need rest from the enemy and also for our own well-being. God provides rest from the enemy, but it is up to us to make time for physical rest. The loss of sturdiness can be reversed by spending quiet time with Jesus.
Moses once experienced a burden of leading God's people. The people of Israel had to make many demands of him, yet Moses found the rest he needed along the way by choosing to take it. God reassured Moses with His promise: "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest." — Exodus 33:14
Jesus encourages you to be sensitive to your need for rest. Take time to move into a quiet place within Jesus' Holy Presence and find the rest you need.
Christ’s Blessings be with you, Rev. Walker
