Let Jesus Carry What You Cannot

Stooped by her load, a woman trudged up the hill as a wagon slowly came alongside her.
“Need a ride, ma’am?” the driver asked.
“Yes, thank you,” she replied, climbing into the back of the wagon and letting her feet dangle freely.
As they traveled on, the horses’ steady hooves set a gentle rhythm, and the wagon swayed softly from side to side. After a few minutes, the driver glanced back, noticed something, and pulled the wagon to a stop.
Stepping down, he walked to the back and spoke to her with a kind, concerned voice.
“Ma’am, won’t you release that heavy load from your back? Rest awhile until I get you home.”
She shook her head.
“Sir, I must not take this load off me. It is my burden to carry.”
Puzzled by her choice, the driver returned to his seat and started the horse forward again, slow and steady.
Many of us do the same. We carry our burdens alone—longer than we should and heavier than we must. But Jesus invites us to trust Him with every weight we bear. When you hand your heavy burdens to Him, His Peace will flood your spirit.
He speaks gently to you today: “Come to Me… and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
Rest beside Jesus Christ, my friend, and let Him lift what you were never meant to carry alone.
