Living

The Apostle Paul reminds us that we are not to give up. In Galatians 6:9, he writes, “So let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give up.” As Christians, we know there is much to be done for Jesus, and continuing to do what is right is pleasing to our Lord.

The tenor of Jesus’ own words strengthens us when weariness sets in. He says, “We must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work.” With this encouragement from Jesus, we are called to keep doing good, trusting that our Heavenly Father blesses us continually as we give careful attention to living rightly and faithfully.

One preacher has said that your events in life are parables written by Jesus, meant to be understood, received, and shared with others to show how to do what is right. This is a beautiful way to live. As Jesus speaks to us through the holy events of our lives, the attention we give to His actions and His direction makes each day richer.

Prayer:  Gracious Heavenly Father, I thank You for the encouragement of Your Word and the steady guidance of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Help me not to grow weary in doing what is right, and to trust You. Open my eyes to the holy moments You place before me each day, and give me a willing heart to live them faithfully and share them graciously with others. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
