Mary and Joseph

The Glory of God shines brightly upon Joseph and Mary. Joseph, in the lineage of David, must go to Bethlehem to register. Mary, at her pregnancy term, accompanies Joseph. The journey is long. Seventy miles walking with others on the the same registration trek. Upon arrival they find the inns full and are offered shelter in a cave barn.

The Star signals sacred birth announcement from God as Mary gives birth to Jesus. God's Son, The King of Kings, is born to save us, give us true forgiveness, and set us free from unloving thoughts and actions. Joseph and Mary show us how to respond to God's lead.

Later, folks will see that Jesus will be a King unlike earthly Kings. For our King Jesus will rule over the Kingdom of God within us. He will take hearts and make them His holy homes. Baby Jesus' small eyes open for the first time. He looks into His parent's faces of love and rejoicing. His parents marvel at what God has done by giving us Him. God is with us!

In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. 2 This was the first registration and was taken while Quirinius was governor of Syria. 3 All went to their own towns to be registered. 4 Joseph also went from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to the city of David called Bethlehem, because he was descended from the house and family of David. 5 He went to be registered with Mary, to whom he was engaged and who was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for her to deliver her child. 7 And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in bands of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no place in the guest room. Luke 2:1-7
