Perfect God's Son came to us as an infant to be born as we are all born. He was born to die. Out of His death He would free us. So when Jesus begins His three year ministry to us to heal, give us instructions and Promises, and to explain His Cross and the New Birth, Jesus has an intense purpose to give us the Way to God through pure truth and love. His love lives as He energizes us, motivates us, and propels us to serve Him and Him alone. We serve Him-- He has experienced everything that we are experiencing. It is remarkable that Jesus knows exactly what you are thankful for, or suffering through, or the choices you have to make, or the life of service for God that you lean into. Jesus knows and Jesus cares.
He understands your temptations and your weaknesses. He has given you Holy Spirit to advocate to God on your behalf just before and during your weaknesses, and Holy Spirit gives you strength to stand strong in Jesus. Trust Jesus your Source. Ashes are a reminder that one day you will die. Jesus died. His body was Resurrected to make Heaven your final home. His death became the Source of Eternal Salvation for all who obey Him.
We imitate His obedience, His love for God, and give thanks He has shown us the Way.
