Jesus said to them, "I watched satan fall from heaven like a flash of lightning. See, I have given you authority to tread on snakes and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing will hurt you. Luke 10:18-19
Jesus has just sent seventy of His disciples out into different areas to speak Holy Spirit words, tell of God's Love in Jesus God's Son, and anoint the sick with healing prayers-- casting out satan using Jesus' Name. His disciples are Holy Spirit led, they Baptize and preach His Word, and call others into repentance which leads to salvation in Jesus. They reap Kingdom of God Harvest. Then they return to Jesus rejoicing!
Jesus proclaims satan defeated; that the sign of satan's defeat is his fall from heaven like a flash of lightning. When Jesus' disciples speak faith in Jesus confidently and with a Gospel invitation, satan dramatically descends downward. satan is defeated as Jesus' disciples go out and minister in His Name. Jesus' Name dumps satan. satan's power has been broken.
Jesus' seventy disciples' work has Great Meaning for us to do likewise. If they can do it we can do it. Jesus watches satan fall from sin-loving-souls when we place our faith in Jesus and go into action for Him with confidence that the hold of satan's grip on someone's soul is broken when Jesus Name is spoken.
We do work in the Harvest for Christ. led by the Holy Spirit, as our spoken words have Holy Power when we use Jesus' Name. This is truth. And in doing Jesus' work our confidence comes from His blessings as He is prays for us, like He prayed for all disciples saying, "Sanctify them in the truth; Your Word is truth." (John 17:17) Christ is Word.
Some of us may have concerns about what we are going to say to someone with a sin-sick-soul. Jesus says, "... do not worry about how you are to speak or what you are to say; for what you are to say will be given to you at that time for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you." (Matthew 10:19) Listen intently to Holy Spirit to give you words to offer the Word.
