Peter Alderman was 25 years old, attending a conference at the World Trade Center's Windows on the World when the towers fell. In his memory, his parents created the Peter C. Alderman Foundation in 2003, dedicated to healing the emotional wounds left by terrorist attacks and acts of mass violence.
Today the foundation runs eight trauma clinics in Cambodia, Kenya, Liberia and Uganda. The Peter C. Alderman Foundation is one of many causes formed after the attacks of 911. These good causes remind us that discipleship takes action for Him.
When the power of the Holy Spirit rains down on us to produce a crop that is useful to those for whom it is cultivated, they will receive the blessings from God. For, 911 caused us to grow up in our faith in Christ and pray, help others, and minister to those who would be hurting or suffering for long term due to the towers’ and airplane events of 911.
We are not to be slothful in our faith as we act compassionately, especially in memorials for those who lost loved ones and friends that day. Help out where you can and invite other to join with you where appropriate. Then, we must go on in Worship, prayer, listening to Heavenly Father through the Word, and acting in obedience to His will.
God is love and daily we receive plentifully of Him, so much so that we are overflowing with compassion for Christ. We always move forward for our Savior, and while we glance a what happened years ago in tragedy, we press on toward the victory in Christ Jesus moving in strength among us, His children.
Ground that drinks up the rain falling on it repeatedly and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is cultivated receives a blessing from God. Hebrews 6:7
