Enough Rest

Come to Me all you that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

Jesus uses rest is a synonym for salvation. He uses that same meaning when He speaks of the new Sabbath, a true rest on His promises, teachings, and commandment. To rest is to align yourself with the will of God and is easily accomplished with aid from the invincible Holy Spirit. Jesus has saved us, delivered us from evil, and this gives us rest from our having to live in the world but not be of the world. In Him you are not heavy laden; belief is not a burden, nor is it laborious.

We work for a living and many times we are in contact with those who have not accepted or do not follow Christ. We choose to place our in Jesus as we maneuver through each day. We may see or hear things that shock us as these are contrary to the Kingdom Of God. Christ is King and through Him we remain grounded in right lilving. When we rest in Christ's Jesus' salvation we are refreshed by our Holy Spirit.

Rest also reminds us that Jesus has called us to take a Sabbath, a full day of resting in Him. It's so important not to disregard His emphasis upon resting from our labors. His healing and forgiveness is found in believer's community-- you are united with other believers when you love and Worship Him, when you pray together with others, and any time you gather with two or more believers who use His Name unashamedly.
