And He directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to Heaven, He gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then He gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. Matthew 14:19
Jesus looks up to Heaven and gives thanks to Heavenly Father. Following Jesus’ lead, so do we. After 180 hours, still alive, Hatice Akar is pulled from the rubble of a collapsed apartment building in Southern Turkey; we look up and give thanks! Syrian 5 year old girl named Jinan and her 9 month old brother found alive after 22 hours as she yelled, “Get me out of here!” We look up and give thanks!
Let us lift up the continuing situation of rescue and humanitarian survivor’s relief as post Earthquake needs are at their highest level. For in the midst of broken lives and grief stricken mourners Christ’s mercies are great. Jesus broke the bread to show us Heavenly Father’s outstanding Love for each one of us and for those whom we lift up in our heartfelt prayers.
eWe pray for health for the people of these Nations and those who are working to help them. Norman Vincent Peale said, “Right now the dynamic health of God is flowing all around you. Open your mind and let it surge in.” Health surges in by Holy Spirit’s amazing Power-- Christ's best! We lift up our hearts in thanks. We look up.
