To Yearn What You Yearn

“Everyone, then, who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock." Matthew 7:24

The French proverb says, 'You not only have to yearn what you yearn, but you have to yearn what your yearning leads to. Yearn for Christ's best in your life and the take Christian long-term perspective. Yearning to act on the words of Jesus produces activity! Then build our house on rock, as Jesus recommends, with our lives on solid ground.

Yearning for safe schools for our children will lead us to go to school board meeting and to participate in the PTA meetings. Yearning for a cleaner and more beautiful neighborhood will lead us to pick up the trash that we see and to pull a weed or two in the park. Yearning for our family in Christ to be closer knit will lead us to plan dinners together with lively conversations and it will lead us to be a peacemaker in our families.

Yearning and dreaming about a more Holy Spirit filled lives-- receiving Jesus' words into our hearts and putting them into action. Just prior to our Scripture today Jesus says, “Not everyone who says to me, "Lord, Lord," will enter the Kingdom Of Heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father Heaven." (v.21) Let's do Christ's Love together, yearning for HIs best enough!
