You Invited Me In

Updated: Jun 9, 2019

The grip of labor pains liken to a vice tightening around one's pregnant belly. Mary has tightening pain and then it lets up. Labor pains come regularly. Joseph asks, yet there is no place for them in the inn And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn. Luke 2:7

But someone invited Joseph and Mary into the place where she gave birth. And that someone is not mentioned in Scriptures because it is not necessary to tell us who she or he is. Someone helped and God knows. They are the 'you invited me in.'

And He needs you to be the someone to show someone else a place, give food or drink, help to clothe, and to visit others. Needs for you to be a someone not mentioned whom He loves dearly.

God was there helping then just as He is here with you helping you now. God is your faithful Helper (Psalm 54:4). He helps His children and you are His child (John 1:12). As He has helped us, we help others.

Jesus said:

Then the King will say to those at His right hand, ‘Come, you that are blessed by My Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.’

Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when was it that we saw You hungry and gave You food, or thirsty and gave You something to drink? And when was it that we saw You a stranger and welcomed You, or naked and gave You clothing? And when was it that we saw You sick or in prison and visited you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to Me.’ Matthew 25:34-40
