What's A Friend?
Jesus says, “You are My friends…” John 15:14a
Making a list of what we like the most in our friends clarifies importance. First, we love our friend’s enthusiasm when they're giving of themselves to others and to events. This impresses us. The Lord is consulted in the very beginning, and His guiding Spirit energizes our friends. Many lives are touched by their enthusiastic caring. The receivers are truly blessed when our friends target them with such detailed thoughtfulness
Secondly, friends love to participate. Especially to participate in anything that will bring them closer to the Lord! Friends give their whole selves. They are free of inhibitions. They hunger to be in the Presence of the deep Holiness of Heavenly Father, who gives laughter and blessings and hope. Listening is an honor. Talk is a delight. And there's a balance to their time alone and in togetherness. In both, the Breath Of God energizes them.
Thirdly, friends focus on what is right about life. They root for others to do great things! They encourage the Fruits Of The Spirit to be enjoyed. They are alive with gratitude because the Lord has redeemed them. If a problem arises, they go to the Lord for solutions. Unconditional love is talked about often and put into action by friends. The Lord is their first love, best love, and soulmate. Friends really love the Lord.
