The Faith That Prepares Your Children

As we raise our children, much of our attention is given to the present moment—their summer camps, upcoming schooling, sports, developing talents, and the daily rhythm responsibilities. Yet faithful parents also take time, especially in the quiet evening hours, to speak with the Lord about their children’s future. Open to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we prayerfully participate in preparing our children and young adults for what lies ahead of them.

We are reminded that years before Timothy was ready to pastor, the Apostle Paul was already preparing him for battle, for witness, and even for suffering. In 2 Timothy 4:7, an older and seasoned Paul writes, “I have fought the good fight; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith.” These words were not only a reflection on Paul’s own life but a strengthening encouragement for Timothy’s service. It is the power of faith within you that makes you strong for faithful service to God.

Timothy’s witness places him within the unbroken line of those who serve our Lord, yielding themselves to holy love for others. When we live this way, the needs of another are lifted, because love is shared through you and me, and through our Christian community. From such a life also flows self-discipline and self-control—the marks of a well-balanced faith expressed in both our actions and our words.

As Paul reminds us, “For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice, but rather a spirit of power and of love and of self-discipline” (2 Timothy 1:7).

Maya Gebala, was in a school shooting and was fighting for her life.  Prayers for miracles (she’s had some already).  Making great strides in recovery, now communicating with her tablet, now pushes a yes/no button. Update, she is recovering from a fifth cranial surgery, healing in Jesus’ Name.

Jason B. adult, and Armani 9 month old, need a liver donors and prayers that their diseases to be healed by Jesus.  Update on Jason B., chemo started May 19^th, and a donor has been found, Praise Jesus.  Update on baby Armani, in Pediatric ICU and on the top of the list for a liver transplant when the liver comes available., abundant Blessings on Armani in Jesus’ Name.

Jasmine, a teen girl had tumor removed in her abdomen and leg off, Home now and prayers for mobility miracles, continuing prayers for her new lungs and physical therapy, Praise Jesus for her graduation from Middle School.

Marcellus, Evan, Yancy, Adley, Parker,  Nick B., young people conquering leukemia, prayers for Christ’s miracles and our support for their families.  After 2 years Yancy rings the bell,  baby Adley Sue prayers for brain cancer in hospital, Parker making slow and steady improvements continuing prayers.

Young Cooper S. from Martin county, facing complications related to leukemia, a rare form, may Christ bless the treatments in progress and we pray for Cooper’s full healing.  Continued prayers and add Zach R. for challenging time with leukemia.  Healing in Christ’s Name.

Young Ryder, with a serious form of cancer, a rare skull mass, may Christ’s power and strength be with Ryder as faith and medicine work together to help Rider recover to complete health, in Christ’s Name, Amen.  Update: another surgery tomorrow.

A nearly teenage girl, recovering from a heart transplant.  Update, good recovery, strength returning in full, in Jesus Name.

Young Lawson and family, battling blood clots and recovery challenges, Lord continue to touch Lawson with healing and bless this family with sleep and love, in Jesus’ Name,  and may our prayers keep him home and out of the hospital healing Alleluia.

Lennon, a toddler whose cancer has relapsed— prayers for healing and renewed hope.  Update, she is in remission and Praise Jesus she’s had a stable hearing test too!

Waylon B., who has a brain tumor.  Waylon is 3 and has had all the treatments and constant        prayers, he has left the hospital and has no remaining signs of cancer, Praise Jesus.

Jake C, born 12 weeks early, prayers that he thrive, on the heart transplant waiting list.Jacob S, young teen with heart problems that are being healed one by one thru Jesus.  Continuing prayers please.

Colton, a teenager in a terrible car accident, multiple surgeries already, healing from Jesus. Still healing and doing well, he has decided to become a doctor.  Thanks for prayers.

Jeff, kidney surgery, home after second surgery for stones, prayer for energy to return and healing.

Abby’s bones are brittle from health issues and will wait a year to have spinal fusion.  Prayers for strengthening of her bones from Jesus’ blessings and miracles.

Ailyn has had in-home visits from hospice, she now weighs under 35 pounds.  Prayers also for Emma for kidney, brain, and nutrition.  Prayers for healing miracles.

Dick and Kay went to heaven and prayers for their grandson with special needs in hospital, funeral on Friday with prayers for friends and family.  We thank Christ for their Church work.

Thank you Christ that Charlotte’s fever went back down to normal after it reached over 104 degrees.  Thank You she is now off of liquid nutrition and pain medications.  Continuing healing for this young girl.

Prayers for Gatlin who just turned 1 and had his second heart surgery on Tuesday.  Healing prayers and the Lord’s protection for Gatlin as he recovers fully and resumes his active toddler life!  Thank you Christ.

Rowan, young boy, prayers for his medical team-  for compassion, wisdom, and smart skills.  Healing miracles for Rowan.  On very aggressive chemotherapy.  Strength for his parents.

Kairi, diagnosed in January of a rare brain tumor, 7 years old, in a clinical trial, and most recent mri shows no further growth in the tumor.  Healing prayers for her radiation necrosis.

7 year old Rhett who is fighting leukemia and Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma.  Two cancers.  Prayers for healing and regain his vibrant life again.

Mae Mae, healing from stage 4 Neuroblastoma, 3 year old girl, May Christ give these loving children His healing and help them to regain healthy activities again.

Prayers for Ethan’s mother, he went on to Heaven two years ago and struggles with sadness. 

Camryn, little girl who lost all of her hair in Feb. and it has started to regrow, may this be a speedy process and her new hair be gorgeous like Cam is.

Megan and her family, for her family to continue to pray, fight, and celebrate every milestone.  Megan had a brain injury and the recovery process has been slow yet she is a courageous young girl  with smiles for her parents.  Her mother reminds us to wear our helmets.

Baby boy Salem, cancer tumor on his adrenal gland and his parents hope that they will be ringing that cancer free bell soon for him.  Our love and prayers are with this hopeful family.  May Christ’s healing and abundant love care compassionately for them all.

Evie, has been through multiple procedures and is in pain most of the time, chemo and a cold/flu like condition.  She hates needles and has had to endure so many.  Prayer for little Evie to get through this and for Christ’s compassionate healing for Evie.  And our prayers are with her family also.

Gayle, Phil’s wife, went to Heaven 3 weeks ago and they had been married around 60 years, no kids.  Jesus’ Resurrection has kept Phil and family afloat. 

Donald,  heart attack just days ago, thankful for  lifesaving measures at the hospital and quick thinking family, thanks for a Savior who saved him.
